Activision have announced that the next instalment of Vigilante 8 will be heading to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade service this by Spring. This will be a remake of the hit PSone game of the same name. Feature 8 players over xbox live plus new content.

ACTIVISION ANNOUNCES VIGILANTE 8®: ARCADE FOR XBOX LIVE ARCADE

Santa Monica, CA – February, 14 2008 – Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today the next installment in the classic vehicular-combat franchise Vigilante 8®, Vigilante 8: Arcade for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Licensed and developed by Isopod Labs, Vigilante 8: Arcade is an all new remake of the original game, featuring online play with up to eight players and a host of new content, taking full advantage of next-generation technologies.

The title is scheduled for release via download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 this spring and has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

From Wednesday, JAN 23rd, 2:00 a.m. PST through Sunday, 11:59 p.m. PST, Xbox LIVE members worldwide can download the full version of the recent Xbox LIVE Arcade game called Undertow.  Good on M$ for at least giving us something for all the recent Xbox Live downtime with have experienced.

Developed by Chair Entertainment Group, Undertow is one of the highest-rated and best looking games available on Arcade. Undertow redefines aquatic based shooters through a mix of high-definition graphics, intuitive controls and multiple modes of game play action. The game features a full story driven-single player campaign, on and offline co-op, and multiplayer for 2-16 players over Xbox LIVE for Gold subscribers. Players battle for control of the oceans as one of three selectable races, each with four unique, upgradeable units. “Undertow” is available worldwide (normally 800 Microsoft Points) and is rated E10+.

New Xbox model The Xbox 360 Ultimate:

Seems microsoft will be releasing a new model of the Xbox 360 called the Xbox 360 Ultimate. This model with have 1080p HDMI output, built-in Wi-Fi, hi-def audio output, cooler 65nm hardware architecture and a near-silent fan. (I will like to see that!) It will also take advantage of Microsoft’s upcoming IPTV service and include a built-in HD-DVD drive (Which it should have come withi n the first place like the PS3’s default blu-ray). Its rumoured too it much even come with a harddrive as large as 320 GB!

M$ it seems will now ban you from Xbox live if you have modded your console in ANY way. Reports are coming in that so users have been banned for 12v modding there fans to high speed to improve the system heat issues often arising in Xbox 360’s. Come on M$ this is pathetic!

Also it seems that some users have been unbanned for unkown reasons. It seems there is a flaw in M$’s bann system where users with unmodifoed Xbox 360’s are banned. And otehr with modded untis aren’t. Its a real mess….

We remind users that if you mod your Xbox in any way not stay off Xbox live or risk being banned!

Ubisoft have delayed the release for Far Cry 2 in order to have better financal results for 2008-2009….Typical how many times has this happened before?

Brothers In Arms Hell’s Highway and Far Cry 2 now scheduled for release in fiscal 2008-09 rather than the fourth quarter of 2007-08.

Maximus has just recently released 360 Firmware Toolbox v4.6. 360 Firmware Toolbox v4.6 is a GUI that handles several Xbox 360 DVD drive firmware operations. Now with iXtreme v1.4 for Hitachi-LG v78 and v79 drives. But only with passkey.

iXtreme firmware 1.4 Out: New release of ixtreme firmware 1.4 is out. Its for all versions of the DVD drives except for V78/ V79 hitachi drives. Which according to sources Maximus will release shortly*.

*Remember toying with firmware is at your own risk, you could break your Xbox 360 or be banned from Xbox live for good and void your warranty. Again its at your own risk…
