Capcom announced a new title due for release on Xbox Live. Lost Planet 2 is coming the sequel to 2007’s top sci-fi mech shooter.

The sequel will have many different landscapes quite different from the original which was all set on a planet covered entirely in snow. The video shows us dark rainy jungle and a sunny enemy camp.

Not word from Capcom if it would be Xbox 360 exclusive or platform.

Trancy of modcontrol.com has released a new Xflasher for the Xbox360.  Xflasher is now available in both English and French:

In the past there have been many users who have had problems when it comes to flashing their drive under Windows (Drive-bricking, Windows freezes, etc.) so I have decided to program a DOS-based tool that automatically does the following:

* Copying of the DVD-Drive Firmware
* Spoofing/patching of the Firmware
* Flashing the DVD-Drive with iXtreme

The Tool: Xflasher completes the entire Flash-Procedure. For this the original firmware as well as the the files iXtreme.bin, org.bin, key.bin, identify.bin, inquiry.bin or dummy.bin are placed in separate folders. Note: Not all of the files mentioned above are created for every drive model.

DVD drives from Lite-On, BenQ, and Samsung/Toshiba are supported. It is not possible to flash Hi-tachi drives under DOS at the moment, if this should change in the future then newer versions of Xflasher will most probably be released with the added support.

Halo Wars Demo

Microsoft has let word Ensemble Studios real-time strategy title Halo Wars has officially turned Gold and to celebrate they will be releasing a Halo Wars Demo which is set for release on the 5th of February.

The Demo will let users experience the first two campaign missions in Halo Wars. There is also multilayer option included with a multiplayer map used from the full game. The multiplayer mode lets users battle it out against AI in Skirmish mode online. No Xbox live online play.

Halo Wars is slated to be released in North American on March the 3rd and a European release of the 27th of February.

Assassins Creed 2

Ubisoft have confirmed that they are working on a new Assassins Creed. While we have no detail’s on the story or features etc. What is known is that the title will be released during the company’s next fiscal year. So that puts Assassin Creed 2’s Release date between 1st April to 31st March 2010.

Warner Bros have confirmed that a demo of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will be released on the Xbox 360 via Xbox live service. The demo is expect to be released at the end of January.

Star Ocean The Last Hope release date has moved forward to February 24 commented Square Enix. The forthcoming Xbox 360 RPG Star Ocean The Last Hope. It was set for a March 3rd release date, however they have brought that forward. Quite rare to see a game coming out earlier, normally we expect delays… Not this time.

A few days late but here are some new Batman Arkham Asylum screenshots Eidos had sent out. Looks very promicing I must say. Lets hope the gameplay is as good as the graphics look. Its coming out summer 2009.

Its in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and finally the PC.

Eidos and developer Rocksteady Games have released a set of screenshots for the new Batman game called Batman Arkham Asylum due to be released by them. As you can see from the screenshots it has a dark and mature feel to it.

Fable II

The highly anticipated title Fable II finally has a release date set, it will be out on October the 21st in North America and out on the 24th in Europe.

Fable II will be sold in two separate packages, a standard and limited collector’s edition. Retailing at $79.99, the latter features bonus in-game content, along with a bonus “making of” DVD, a collectible Hobbe figurine, five Fate Cards, and an Xbox Live Gold trial card good for 48 hours.
